The restoration site is located along a point of land at the Air Force base that is experiencing high rates of erosion due to wave energy. 25 volunteers contributed 100 hours planting salt marsh grass plugs along the shoreline immediately behind the created oyster reef. Funding for this project was provided through a partnership between NOAA's Community-based Restoration Program and Restore America's Estuaries.",
