This event was to increase stewardship and understanding in regards to habitat restoration for the NOAA employee community.  Additionally, a few area schools participated.  The activities took place at Chalk Point, a site that is being restored to offset injuries due to an older oil spill in this area of teh Patuxent River, Maryland.  Activities by volunteers included marsh and seagrass plantings, oyster spat on shell setting, and monitoring of the Chalk Point Marsh and Beach Restoration project for fish and birds.",
