  "projectDescription": "NOAA joined the U.S. Air Force and Southwest Florida Water Management District - Surface Water Improvement and Management Program to build a series of coastal tidal ponds between the golf course and the western shoreline of Hillsborough Bay. This project restored fish and wildlife habitat and improved the water quality flowing from MacDill Air Force Base to the bay. In addition, Tampa Bay Watch, along with students from Bloomingdale and Countryside High Schools, and community volunteers supported the restoration project by assisting in the planting of approximately 500 mangroves and 2,700 salt marsh units.",
