  "projectDescription": "The U.S. Virgin Islands have seen a high rate of land development and experts agree that increased erosion associated with land development and unpaved roads that run throughout Fish Bay watershed is to blame for the deteriorated conditions of the bay.  The Island Resources Foundation created an erosion control strategy for the Fish Bay watershed.  This was accomplished through the use of a GIS-based STJ-EROS model which is a sediment budget model that allows the user to identify road segments and areas within a watershed that contribute the most sediment to the marine environment.  This data was then used to develop, implement and evaluate a series of sediment control Best Management Practices.  The information gained from this project will be applicable to other priority sites throughout the Virgin Islands and helps to create a 'next steps' document for restoration activities in the Fish Bay watershed.",
