  "projectDescription": "Waterfront property owners often destroy vital and productive habitat areas when they stabilize their shorelines to protect against erosion. NOAA's Community-based Restoration Program and Restore America's Estuaries have joined together with the North Carolina Coastal Federation to fund natural shoreline restoration demonstration projects at several sites. A shoreline erosion control demonstration project was constructed at Hammock's Beach State Park in Bogue Sound, where a 200-foot bulkhead was removed and coastal marsh was restored along the shoreline. A granite sill was constructed in front of the restored shoreline to reduce wave energy.",
