  "projectDescription": "Located adjacent to the Skykomish River in Snohomish County, Washington, the Haskell Slough project restored 3.5 miles of riverbed for use by salmon for the first time in more than 60 years by excavating 6,000 feet of stream channel connecting 11 large existing groundwater-fed ponds. Rootwads, large woody debris, and structures were installed to enhance the rearing habitat restored in the first phase of this project. The restoration provided habitat for juvenile Coho, spring Chinook, and steelhead salmon and insures a year-round flow with high quality groundwater and seepage of river water through the existing dike.",
