  "projectDescription": "Bronson Brook is a tributary to the East Branch of the Westfield River, supporting habitat for Atlantic salmon and resident  coldwater species (e.g., eastern brook trout, black nosed dace). Two perched culverts on the brook (Dingle Road culvert and Cummington Road culvert) were effectively blocking fish passage and contributing to streambank erosion. The culvert at Dingle Road was replaced with a  bottomless arch culvert and the Cummington Road was retrofitted. Additional in stream habitat improvements were also completed  to restore natural stream function, including installation of large woody debris within the stream channel and streambank stabilization utilizing bioengineering techniques. The new, habitat-friendly culverts have reconnected the downstream reach and will allow access to an additional 4 miles of high quality habitat for migratory and resident species.",
