  "projectDescription": "NW Chinook Recovery and dairy farmer Dale Reiner restored 3 1/2 miles of Skykomish River side channel  to salmonid use by excavating 6,000 feet of stream channel connecting 11 large existing groundwater-fed ponds. The new channels connect the system to the river at the downstream end of the project and have restored salmon production to the slough after more than 60 years of limited or no production.  81 acres of conifers were planted along both sides of Haskell Slough and along the Skykomish River using NOAA funds and CREP program resources.  The project continues with the goal of increasing the flow of Haskell Slough to further improve habitat.",
