"projectDescription": "The Tubbs Island Salt Marsh Restoration project consisted on the restoration of diked fallow farmland to tidal wetlands on 72 acres at Lower Tubbs Island in Sonoma County, part of the San Pablo Bay National Wildlife Refuge managed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS). Project implementation began in 2002 and consisted of marsh restoration and levee maintenance, which was implemented and partially funded by a partnership with Ducks Unlimited. The restoration resulted in the development of a salt marsh/tidal slough complex that provides habitat for fish, aquatic invertebrates, and fish-eating birds. Post-construction monitoring was also performed to ensure that the project achieved the intended objectives and it concluded in 2007.",
