Channels are planned to cut through weirs which disrupted the historic tidal flow.  Native plant nurseries have been established at Laguna Atascosa NWR and at University of Texas at Brownsville/Texas Southmost College to provide plants for re-vegetation efforts once tidal flow is restored to the system.",
