"projectDescription": "Funding provided by the NOAA Restoration Center Community-based Restoration Program, the Fish America Foundation, the Nature Conservancy, and Monroe County was used to restore Egret Island, Florida and the adjacent tidal creek to its original habitat of tropical hardwood hammock, coastal wetlands, and tidal creek/seagrass beds. A bridge connecting the island to Key Largo was removed to enhance tidal flushing. Egret Island is a small coastal island located in the John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park in Key Largo, Florida and is the most visited park in the Florida State Park system.",
