  "projectDescription": "Funding for this project allowed for proper management and protection of bird colonies and their nesting grounds. A total of 57 bird colonies in Pinellas County and the Tampa Bay area were surveyed and 25 local coastal species were benefited from the effort of the project volunteers. Signs were posted at colony nesting grounds on more than 30 islands and several islands were patrolled to increase awareness and enforce protection of these essential nesting habitats.",
