  "projectDescription": "The project involved the installation of two sheetpile marsh ditch plug structures along a previously ditched stretch of marsh in the Fishing Bay Wildlife Refuge, a state of Maryland managed parcel. The structures were installed and driven to block the majority of current flow in the tidal ditches, allowing the marsh to flood as it did historically, more naturally mimicking the shallow tidal marsh habitat that historically occurred.  In the short term, an increase is expected in use by fauna (specifically anadromous fish which will use the restored freshwater headwater area).  Over the longer term, there will likely be a change in the predominant make-up of the vegetation back to a more salt tolerant and partially submerged flora community.",
