  "projectDescription": "Over the past thirty years, excess spoil from the dredging of the Fowl River on had been deposited at the mouth of this marsh, altering its elevation and introducing invasive species. This project restored five acres of salt marsh by regrading the marsh to the appropriate elevations, removing invasive reeds, and planting native marsh grasses. A tidal channel was also constructed and a berm was created to protect the marsh from erosion.",
