  "projectDescription": "In summer 2000 and spring 2001, three Northwest Youth Corps crews of 10 people worked at the South Slough National Estuarine Research Reserve (NERR) in Coos Bay, OR. Crews contributed to salmon habitat restoration by establishing improved access to South Slough creeks and tidal areas. The Crews built trails to protect the marsh from damage by visitors.  They also cleared invasive plants from the area. This work has provided new hiking trails and fishing opportunities at the site.",
