  "projectDescription": "This project restores marsh habitat and migratory fish runs at Rocky Neck State Park and West River Memorial Park.  At Rocky Neck State Park, a pair of failing, undersized culverts was replaced with a new 8-foot box culvert and open channel in early 2010, enhancing tidal flow to an 80-acre salt marsh and supporting one of Connecticut's largest alewife runs. The West River tide gate replacement project involved the removal of three old wooden flap gates, and replacement of the flap gates with three self-regulating tide gates. The gates were installed in 2013.",
