  "projectDescription": "In 2001, Galveston Bay Foundation held its third annual community-based habitat restoration event, called Marsh Bash in 1999 and Marsh Mania in 2000 and later years. The purpose of Marsh Mania is to address high-priority ecological, educational, and socio-economic needs of Galveston Bay and its communities. In 2001, 12.6 acres of intertidal marsh were restored by terracing and shoreline scraping subsided or eroded marsh to re-establish proper elevations, and by planting approximately 21,300 emergent plants.",
