  "projectDescription": "This project was designed to restore and protect coral reef ecosystems in windward and Southern O'ahu by directly removing alien algae from coral reefs and native algae habitats.  The local community was involved in project activities including alien algae cleanups and monitoring surveys. 11 acres were restored by removing invasive algae from reef in the north end of Kane‘ohe Bay. In addition, the community was engaged to support the restoration of native sea urchins and other herbivores in Kane‘ohe Bay.",
