This year, NOAA is particularly proud to celebrate the work of habitat restoration and the people who make it happen: the construction workers, engineers, landscapers, and others who are helping to create a healthier environment, restore our fisheries, and strengthen our coastal communities and economies.

Here you will find out about habitat restoration across the nation, from Oregon to New Jersey.  Our “National” section contains an overview of peer-reviewed data on the economic benefits of habitat restoration as well as the personal stories of people who are working in the restoration economy.  For them, habitat restoration isn’t just a number, it’s a livelihood.
